"Rivera's great asset is her combination of a plush, throaty timbre and the sort of laser-like technical precision that usually only comes with a thinner and more silvery sound ... Rivera's singing was crystalline and rounded throughout." - The San Francisco Chronicle

With a voice known for its “effortless precision and tonal luster (San Francisco Chronicle),” soprano Jessica Rivera has collaborated closely with many of today’s most celebrated composers, including John Adams, Osvaldo Golijov, Jonathan Leshnoff and Nico Muhly, and has worked with such leading conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Robert Spano and Michael Tilson Thomas.

Rivera made her European operatic debut with the Netherlands Opera as Kitty Oppenheimer in John Adams’s Doctor Atomic, produced by Peter Sellars. She debuted at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Finnish National Opera in the same role and joined the Metropolitan Opera for its production of Doctor Atomic under Alan Gilbert.

Ms. Rivera’s 2015-2016 season featured performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Nashville Symphony under the baton of Giancarlo Guerrro, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for Voice and 8 Cellos with Grand Rapids Symphony and multiple engagements with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra including Brahms's Requiem and the World and New York premieres of Jonathan Leshnoff's Zohar in Atlanta and Carnegie Hall. As a recitalist, she has performed in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Santa Fe.
