"The Pavel Haas Quartet have come up with yet another unmissable release." —Gramophone
Congratulations are in order for the Pavel Haas Quartet, winners of a 2026 Gramophone Award for their recording of Martinů Quartets Nos 2, 3, 5 & 7.
Says cellis Peter Jarůšek:
We see this award primarily as a reward for how many years we’ve spent with Martinů, how much we’ve invested in his music, and how deeply we’ve been moved by it. When such a prestigious magazine gives us preference amid this flood of recordings, it’s truly a great honor for us. We’ve already won Gramophone Awards for Dvořák, Smetana, and Schubert – composers known worldwide.
Presented annually, this year's Gramophone award ceremony took place in London on October 7 and featured the Quartet performing a live excerpt from the album.
The Quartet enters the studio later this year to record Dvořák Op.61 and 105 for the Supraphon label, to be released in 2027.
